What’s new with ruzuku: photo/video responses, open access courses, and notifications

We’re always building a better learning experience for both Learners and Guides.

Here are some specific improvements we’ve released over the past few weeks…

Post photos, videos & files in activity discussions
A key part of the learning community in a course is responding to specific discussion questions and prompts.

In the past, these responses have been pure text, like a comment on a blog.

Now, we’ve added the ability to post photos, videos and attach files to responses.

Imagine designing an activity to create a vision board or collage… then having participants post a digital photo of their creation.

Or, wrapping up a course by asking everyone to post a 2-minute video reflecting on what they’ve learned during the course and how they’ll apply the ideas going forward.

Open access courses
Ruzuku has always supported On Demand courses, which provide autoresponder-style delivery of course content over time.

Now, you can also create Open Access courses, in which all the steps and content in a course are immediately accessible as soon as student registers.

This feature is still in testing, so contact us if you’d like to try it with one of your courses.

Course announcements
You can now send custom announcement emails to everyone enrolled in one of your courses.

This can be handy if you want to let people know that you’ve added new content, or to direct attention to an interesting discussion.

This feature is still in testing, so contact us if you’d like to try it with one of your courses.

Get notified when students post
Are you running a course in which students post only occasionally, and you’d like to get an email when they do so you can respond to questions?

You’ll want to check out our new notification option. This feature is still in testing, so contact us if you’d like to try it with one of your courses. (And be careful using it on large courses with lots of students, you could find yourself receiving a deluge of emails!)
