Many people ask us, “Is Pathwright any good? Can I teach an engaging, successful online course using Pathwright?”
You should take our opinion with a healthy pinch of salt, since we develop a competing online course platform.
That said, we’ll try to be as fair as we can. We’ve written an in-depth Pathwright review here — it includes a complete Pathwright feature comparison and decision guide.
Why use Pathwright?
Pathwright has useful features for creating and selling an entire curriculum of courses.
In particular, you can set up a landing page that displays multiple course offerings, and allows new students to select and purchase any course from your catalog.
This can be helpful if you’re setting up a “school” with many different courses that are always open for registration.
For larger companies and brands, Pathwright also offers consulting services to handle more complex and customized course development projects. This can be useful in cases where an “off the shelf” course platform can’t meet business or technical requirements.
Possible concerns about using Pathwright
Pathwright cannot host videos. If videos are important to your online courses, you would need to research, purchase and integrate a separate video hosting solution to use in conjunction with Pathwright.
Pathwright also does not offer any conferencing or webinar features for running live teleclasses or webinar classes within your course. You would need to research, purchase, and manage a separate conferencing tool.
If you anticipate teaching more than 50 students, Pathwright can become relatively expensive for solopreneur/small business users. To support 150 active students would cost $299/month, or $3,588/year. Comparable platforms offer plans starting at $497/year.
